Valerie Maurer – Criminal Defense

Valerie Maurer graduated with honors from the University of Florida in 2000 with a major in Sociology and a minor in Criminology. She continued her studies at the University of Miami School of Law. She obtained her Juris Doctor in 2003 with a concentration of courses focused on Criminal Defense, Domestic Violence, and Trial Skills. During law school Valerie interned for a criminal defense firm in Naples, Florida, and after graduation began working as a Defense Lawyer for the State of Florida.

Valerie enjoyed work in the public service arena and served the community from 2003-2010. She handled great numbers of criminal cases with success in Juvenile, Misdemeanor, and Felony. The experience gained from handling so many files was invaluable and has made her the outstanding trial lawyer she is today.

Valerie knows how to work up your case from beginning to end, often times minimizing your criminal exposure before formal charges are filed. She understands the importance of giving her clients the personal attention they deserve and will dedicate her time efficiently to ensure that every potential motion is heard timely to protect your rights.

After leaving the public sector, Valerie opened the Law Office of Maurer & Kobin in 2010 where she concentrated on Criminal Defense, Dependency, Domestic Violence Injunctions, and Family Law. In 2012-2013 Valerie worked as an associate attorney for Berry, Day, & Mcfee, working alongside Donald Day.  

Valerie is a member of the Collier County Bar Association, Attorney Coach for a local high school trial competition team, and remains active in the legal community, keeping herself up to date with all of the latest changes and milestones in law. Valerie Maurer has defended rights of the accused in South West Florida for 10 years.
